The Case of the Hidden Hole

:?::banghead:Maybe I'm blind, ignorant or simple minded, but.....does anyone have any idea why HTC put the little hole for the reset switch under the back cover. I know there is a software soft reset, but I feel reassured by that gentle click you get with the stylus. Am I not enough of a tech head to see some good reason for that design bloop. I remain dazed and confused:banghead::banghead:

They did it to make it look sleeker. That's the only real reason. I prefer function over aesthetics though so I took a Dremel to my battery cover & case.

you can always just hold the power button and select turn off device and then turn it right back on. same as a soft reset.

a tiny hole like the one found in the TP is nothing... the Tmobil TP2 has it outside...

who knows the right answer to this question but it is dumb to put it in inside.

True, but if it the phone is frozen you can't.

Why is this always someones idea when this comes up, I will keep breaking my cases if I had to reset everytime i needed to, although this phone I dont do it nearly as much as i did the the tp

Some weird thought process went into this hidden reset considering how often these things can totally lock up. The imagio is the same and the back cover on that thing is a true biatch to remove.

Re: The Case of the Hidden Hole

The Tmob version does have it on the outside, but my gf who owns the Tmob TP2 also complains about the back cover easily falling off. I guess life is about give-and-take.

As an aside, when I first read this thread title I was going to offer that I bet it wouldn't be something a golfer like Tiger Woods couldn't fix. But of course, I restrained myself. Oh, wait. Did I type that aloud? Crap! :king:
