is there a program that would completely disable data? I would like something that i can use to disable data so that my phone would not get connected online when i'm using GSM networks. thanks

if u dont want ur sprint tp2 to conect to data there are two was!!

1. if its cdma data u want to block put the phone in gsm/umts only mode!
2. if ur tryin to block gsm data, erase the data connection setting u may or may not have in start>setting>connections>connections>manage existing connections just erase the only made for gsm!!

Just go to com manager and set Data Connection to Off.

but that would still launch when u accidentally open a program that would need data

Search for NoData. It allows you to disable/enable any data connection(s) that your device has setup.
