Need a good video player

On my TP1 I used TCPMP-0.72RC1-ARM... to play my .avi video's on the plane and other stuff. When I attempt to play it now it locks up my TP2. Can anyone recommend a good video player please?

Thx

You need to change your Video setting to GDI or RawFramebuffer. And I think in advance setting Direct draw check the 2nd box. Forget what its called. Im updating my phone right now so I cant check. Once you're done, exit and reopen TCPMP again.

Or your other choice is Coreplayer.

Yet another vote for coreplayer. If you are on a custom ROM you'll want to turn off Manila when using coreplayer to maximize performance. I'm still polishing my script to make this automated (with the help of Japper88), but I should have it up this weekend if all goes well.

I tried this and it locks up my phone still. I vote for the Core.

wow, no cp votes, i say coreplayer. lol no issues on flashed phones either, i seem to be the lucky one. seems its a 2.5 issue, i use 2.1.

I say coreplayer! It's definitely the best! Great for me when playing xvid files no converting or anything needed. I just copy the file to my storage card and play from my phone! Only thing is with custom roms you need to turn off manila to get the best performance. But with wisdomwolfx's script you can do this very easily! Have you tried using TCPMP-0.72RC1-ARM with manila turned off, maybe it will work for you?

On my stock TP2 (Verizon), I have had very good results ripping DVDs with DVD Catalyst (@$9.95). The output plays fine on the Album app in the phone.

Id have to disagree...
image quality is worse than when played in coreplayer and it seems frame rate is also affected..

only thing I dont like about coreplayer is that its controls are always in portrait mode so theres no good way to shuttle through a file in landscape mode.
