Can I send an animated gif via mms?

Can I send an animated gif via mms? I just tried to send one to myself, and it was converted to a jpg, and doesn't animate.

EDIT: also, sending a video mms doesn't recognize .gif files

For Sprint TP2 it is animated..Well at least the ones i send, don't know about receiving.
