Re-enable the HTC Start Menu in 6.5/MMS Not receiving

Hey All;

I finally got gutsy and unlocked the North American GSM on my Sprint Touch Pro 2 and re flashed the radio--I forgot how easy reflashing was (I did this once before with a Mogul that I had temporarily)... Then I decided to go all-out and re-flash to 6.5 with Mighty Rom--and am VERY impressed. I added a couple cosmetic things, and it is a HUGE improvement over Sprint stock!

There are just a couple things that I'm still trying to figure out. One is that the honeycomb menu is popping up instead of the HTC one when I hit "start". I'd much prefer that the TouchFlo one comes up, since it seems really easy to modify. Is there a Cab that will re-enable the TouchFlo menu when hitting Start rather than having it under the scroll at the bottom?

The other issue involves MMS... I downloaded Picture Mail and couldn't get it to work (tried 5 different ways)... so I uninstalled that--and downloaded ARCsoft MMS, which in retrospect seems like the stock software that I had (and liked much better than picture mail!)... the issue is that I can send MMS just fine--but it is still trying to open Picture Mail and throws up an error when I am sent an MMS to open. Is this because I installed and uninstalled picture mail (it gave me the "not supported on this platform" error) and then installed ARC? ...or is this a bug?

I have the latest MightyRom w/ 2.1...

Thanks for any help you can give? I've been messing around for hours and can't seem to figure this out! (I've seen posts about how to convert to the stock windows Start menu--but I'm already there and want to go back to the Programs one)

...I can see myself slowly getting addicted to this. I only kept my Mogul for a couple months cause the memory issues were bugging me--so I went back to Palm for a 750 and 800w... couldn't see myself with a Pre so I figured I'd try a TP 2--and am VERY impressed.

Re: Re-enable the HTC Start Menu in 6.5/MMS Not receiving

1. download Arcsoft 5 0 94 128c

2. set up the settings for the sprint server
  • go to e mail tab
  • tap inbox
  • swipe touchscreen to the right to get to sms/mms inbox
  • press menu, scroll down to Pics/Video settings and choose it
  • Go to cdma servers tab open the existing server.
  • name the server whatever you like. I call mine sprint
  • leave gateway blank
  • port number is 80
  • server address: http://mms.sprintpcs.com/servlets/mms
  • connect via: sprint
  • press done...repeat for GSM server(not sure if it is required) delete any other servers
3. open registry editor...go to hklm, SOFTWARE, Arcsoft, Arcsoft MMS UA, Config, mm1, MMSCSetting, Sprint (or whatever you called your default server) and change all 4 wap settings to 5120000. I also did the same for all the servers.

When I get to Servers, the only thing available on CDMA or GSM is one called "USC"--and it cannot be edited or changed. I also cannot create a new one because it is greyed out.

I verified that I downloaded 5 0 94 128 C

Yep--went through the e-mail tab, and also have done a hard reset.

Still says "USC" under both.

try a different rom

also if you goto start>system>carrier providers it will put the provisioning on your phone for that carrier .. i think that is on the rom your using

Well it's working!!

I reflashed the rom again--and then installed ARC right away after configuring it to Sprint--and it works. I think something somehow got directed to Picture Mail and stuck there from when I tried to install it and it said it wasn't supported.

Thanks for the help!

Any ideas on linking the Start button to the TouchFlo Programs interface like it is in the Sprint stock config?

Thanks
