Does "fn + backspace" work as Del on anyone's Verizon TP2?

Does "fn + backspace" work as the delete key on anyone's Verizon TP2?
This combination used to work as the del key with my XV 6700, but it only works as still a backspace key in TP2.
This and the lack of a separate tab key are real bummers.

I take that the DEL key didn't work with the stock rom then?
Any way to make it work without flashing ROM? I'm a novice, so I'm hesitatnt to flash ROM. Thanks.

Search Rhodium keyboard controller, it'll throw you into a wonderland of things you never thought your keyboard could do! Want delete? tab? copy? paste? You got it!

No, the keyboard controller won't do it. Search tat same thread, and you'll see I have at least 3 posts asking about this very specific function.
