Disable EncFitlog.menc File
 

Some of you may have noticed the EncFiltLog.menc file on your SD cards. Every time you delete it, it comes back. It annoys me. A lot. After many hours of searching on how to prevent it from generating, I found nothing... So I fixed it myself!

NOTE: By performing this hack, you will disable SD card encryption on your device. DO NOT USE THIS IF YOU ARE USING WINDOWS MOBILE TO AUTOMATICALLY ENCRYPT THE CONTENT OF YOUR SD CARD!

Just install this cab and you're good to go!

If the file bothers you that much you can also just make it hidden. Connect your phone to your computer and browse to your SD Card and right-click the file and go to properties and on the bottom portion check off "Hidden". Now the only time it will show up on your phone is when you select "Show all files" in File Explorer.

yea, but some of us like to always see all files including hidden.

Cool, but I looked at the cab and there is no registry file information. Can you tell me what has been changed?

Check the pre-XML :)

And I always have show all files enabled. I'm a tech guy, so I don't like my devices holding secrets :P

From what I've read, killing this thing before it some how gets turned on is a good idea. If it's turned on and your phone gets hard reset then the files on your card will be unreadable

well, I tried to install the cab and received "SR Disable EncFiltLog cannot be installed, try installing again to a different location" Changing location doesn't help
