TP2 unlocking ques.
 

Now, i aware that were forced to donate for the Sim-Security Unlock, in order to patch the radio. HOWEVER, you can run Customs ROMs after you HARD SPL. :confused:

I spent all my money on the phone, so i dont have enough to donate the 20 some-odd dollars to Sim-Security unlock right now,

but what am i not able do do w/o a security unlock?

My phone seems fine running the stock radio. I'm running a juicy r5 rom now on my 1.96.00WF radio, what am i unable to do because of this? Not that I dont intend on donating, just a lil unclear on what it does.

It allows you to use US GSM networks like att. Also allows (for some people not on verizon) use of any network ouside of the US

You cannot flash radios to your phone in its current state...you cannot take your phone to a US GSM carrier in its current state...

As far as I know, that is what YOU are not able to do right now. I'm with Sprint...and only have the HSPL. I'm staying with Sprint...and don't "need" to flash a radio yet. But if there is a radio release later that is heads and shoulders BETTER than the 1.96 that I am also running right now. I don't see a reason to pay to get your SIM/radio unlocked.

+1. I'm not against paying for it and I even made a couple of donations to them (not enough for a free SIM unlocker however...) but even if I did, I wouldn't unlock it right now, I'm on Sprint and have absolutely no issues with the current radio, it's better than any previous "phone" I've had. If one comes out in the future, I'll pay then, but don't believe there's a need at this time.
