turns out when I was driving home, the trip went through 3G and ended up into EDGE, but the phone never properly reconnected to the network

solved it with sending an email and being prompted to turn on the phone again

I think i'm still feeling effects of that terrible program I installed to turn off 3G when idle or in powersave...wish I never installed that

Mine has had the same problem today. When I get home I'm calling VZW to see what is going on.

Actually, there seems to be more to the story. T-Mobile doesn't have a capital 3G footprint, limited on the west side of Rochester. Until today. I guess now I have 3G at home too. Not too much of a difference because I'll still use the wifi anyway.
