the advantage of wifi is that often you will have a faster internet speeds over wifi, so if that speed boost is important to you then you may go that route. also you could be in a non evdo area all together then switch to wifi if a signal is around you. there is no actual advantage of using wifi over evdo or vice versa. edit: some programs require you to be connected to a network thru wifi to use network features but those are certain programs and you will know what those programs are if youre trying to use them. |
Re: 2 questions...
If you're running XP did you download Activesync? Or do you have Vista? As for wifi, I don't use it; it's just a feature. If you want to use it fine, but you don't have to.

I use my WiFi connection at home to take advantage of my home networking instead of using my cellular companies service. To me this is the basic purpose of using WiFi with a smartphone. |

Re: 2 questions...
ok, its working but i really find that because i dont "do" outlook (i have aol) that this was a waste of time...am i wrong? how does this benefit me?
|
Re: 2 questions...
Aside from Outlook, the benefits are minimal.
It's helpful to re-install software (.exe files); It's an easy way to import pictures; I totally depend on Outlook. we have several phones syncing with it and it's great to be on the same page with this program (Calendar, tasks, notes, family email, finances) |
