"X" button to close in WM6.5.3?

How can I make X button close in WM6.5.3? I'm on EnergyROM 28008.

I know this isn't the same as hitting the X in the lower right hand corner, but I've found that WkTask works for 6.5.3. It still has similar issues as other task managers: it partially covers the clock in the upper left hand corner. However, when you hit the upper left hand corner while you are in an application it closes it out. The other nice feature of WkTask is that it shows each running application in that thin bar at the top of the screen, just like Windows on your desktop. It's multitasking friendly.

I'm using QuickMenu that came with the rom. It's essentially the same, top left corner bring up the menu (also has a Start Menu tree). I can close all apps that way, but I'd still like to use the X button in the bottom right corner.

I believe he has Showcase installed on that ROM, if you look in the settings, then it should be an option.

Or you can modify the registry. I forgot where it is exactly but I think windows by default minimizes when you hit the X, however, if you hold down X, it will close the program.

No, it's not Showcase, it's QuickMenu. Holding down X doesn't do anything at all. Just sits there. It's not too inconvenient as our phone can multitask well (suck on that iPhone), but I still like to be able to close.

I just can't believe we are still getting this question after how many months and how many posts just like this one...

Try using search or google in the future for simple questions like this.

There is NO way to close with the X button unless your chef has cooked in the latest version of Showcase suite.

Ummm, I wouldn't be so sure of that. If you Use the HTC taskmanager then you can go to Settings->System->Task Manager. Go the the "Button" Tab and adjust the setting there

End programs by tapping "X" = Kill the App on X
End programs by tapping and holding "X" = Tapping X minimizes, to Close: Hold down the X until it closes (about 2 seconds)

Showcase has similiar settings. I'm not sure about quickmenu though

Except that this doesn't work in WM 6.5.x, which was what was asked.
