What to do First ? - (Update) Failed to activate
 
Just got my new Touch Pro2 in the mail today, i will be retiering my Titan and activating the TP2 on the Verizon network.

Question: is there anything i should do first before activation?

I plan on installing one of the custom rom and have already downloaded HardSPL to unlock the phone.
Using the phone with Verizon is there a need to upgrade the Radio at this point?

Just want to make sure before fire this thing up.

I would just get it activated first, you want to be sure everything works out of the box before you start customizing.

Unlock it and flash C_Fay 1.1 or 1.2!

Good advise. I tried to activate and dang thing would not take the programing. Even tried to do a manual programing with the tech folks at verizon and no luck. It gets a few bars after a hard reboot and will dial the *288 but its dosent go out to verizon it picks up USCellular. Then after we try the manual entering of the numbers in the ##778 it no longer gets any signal.
They said they will have to send me a new device. But it sound more like it the programing not hardware ???

Always start with manual programming. Sprint is the same way. Hands-free activations rarely work, and when they do half you're services get messed up.
