This kills me. What possible reason could they have to not offer this device in the US?

WCDMA is a different kind of mibile network that they use in countries like Japan for example. For more further research about WCDMA and any other network, Wiki is our best friend.

Yep it isn't coming, so who ever is with sprint or a CDMA network and wants to use this phone, is going to have to open a contract with a GSM provider. I plan to do that after the new year. Once i can get my TOUCH PRO sold (COUGH COUGH SHAMELESS PLUG HERE TRYING TO SELL MY PHONE) i am going to order the HD from handtec and run it on a t-mobile plan. If i like it enough i may just terminate my contract with sprint and switch my number over to T-mobile....sucks but after having all 3 HTC phones for sprint, none of them compare to the HD.

Do you not use 3g data now? Because you will not be able to use 3g data in the US with that phone.

It's a joke. You can run Mac OSX on a PC (if you know what you are doing). That website sells OSX pre-installed on a PC.

So, by saying running a GSM phone on CDMA is like running OSX on a PC... would mean that it is possible...

Very true, but if you do some research, you can figure out how to do it yourself, and even dual boot it with XP/Vista.

It may be a joke, but it's one that doesn't make any sense at all. Running Mac OSX on a PC is nowhere near similar to running a GSM phone on CDMA. Besides, the only research we have to do first is why this device wouldn't work on US GSM carriers 3G networks... Possibly a full SIM unlock would be the answer, but I know a place where they'll fully unlock any PDA for $35 near Times Square, so for anybody with the HD that wants it fully unlocked, feel free to PM me.
