This kills me. What possible reason could they have to not offer this device in the US?

WCDMA is a different kind of mibile network that they use in countries like Japan for example. For more further research about WCDMA and any other network, Wiki is our best friend.

It's a joke. You can run Mac OSX on a PC (if you know what you are doing). That website sells OSX pre-installed on a PC.

So, by saying running a GSM phone on CDMA is like running OSX on a PC... would mean that it is possible...
