That's quite a broad and unwarranted assumption about aspect ratio compatibility.

Many apps will work, many probably won't.

Like I said, When the sale of a 4 inch screen is good, HTC might come up with WM7 version.

I think the HD would be a fine phone for WM7. I don't think multitouch is a requirement for Windows Mobile 7 any more than it will be for Windows 7. I think multitouch is a feature Windows Mobile will support but is not a requirement from what I've read.

I believe I saw someone even running a beta of WM7 on the mogul or the touch in some web site so I think the HD should have plenty of power to handle WM7.

While there will obviously be something newer and better coming out not long after the HD is released in Europe - the issue is that typcially Sprint isn't about to jump at the newer model and release it any time soon. So suppose the HDX comes out in April and it is even better than the HD - Sprint still typically takes 4 months to a year before releasing their version. Every engineer I've ever spoken with at the trade shows hates the Sprint "testing" process. From what I hear it is mainly about SPrint putting their market apps e.g. Sprint music on the phone which sometimes can effectively break other parts of the phone. I didn't get more details than that and I don't claim to know the OS ins and out on a WM device but I've certainly seen DLL's from AOL and other crap programs break a perfectly good PC.

You sure it wasn't the skin.. If not I'd LOVE to see that video. I read on engadget that it will require multitouch, could be wrong though.

Good question - I'm not positive if it was the real thing or a skin. As for multi-touch I'm only quoting posts I've googled on the web - since they aren't from microsoft's web site I can't say they are official or final.

I believe the mwg flame II is set for WM7 and I don't think it has multi-touch capability.

Well did it look like this http://www.engadget.com/2008/01/06/i...dows-mobile-7/ ? Also this http://gizmodo.com/photogallery/wind...eak/1000424548 was in the gallery which lead me to believe multi touch on all phones, over here http://gizmodo.com/341287/windows-mo...otion-gestures however, it states WM7 will respond to shaking etc.., thus meaning at least all of the WM7 devices will require a G-sensor.

wait i thought that our phones were plenty capable of multi-touch its just that wm doesn't support it as of right now.
but have you ever tried sms chat because i have it on my phone and i can have one finger on the screen and still slide up and down the screen with my other i mean i doesn't work like the i phone and it always centers back on were the first finger was but thats showing that our screens are capible of mulit-touch wm just isnt ready. and im no engineer or anything so i could be wrong. i do know for a fact that sms chat pics up on two fingers just not in quiet the way the iphone does

I don't think so, if our phones like the Diamond could support it surely application makers could integrate it in there apps.

above - I think you may be reading into it. WM7 may support gestures and shaking but that doesn't mean require it. Our current gen of Windows Mobile supports a touch screen and yet not all devices require a touch screen. Perhaps there will be different versions of WM7 just are there are of WM6.

I think much of what your finding results back to this repost of an article that has never been confirmed - that is why i couldn't say it was definite - http://techinsider.info/wm7.aspx
