brandnew mogul shwoing 300Mhz processor speed...

sup guys,

i just got my new mogul yesturday, sprint store swapped my old 6700 for the mogul. Its brandnew out of the box. however, when i installed the battery plug that shows the battery stautues and the processor speed, its showing 300mhz. i know that mogul processor speed is 400mhz. any idea why its only showing 300mhz???

thanks

No kidding, can you provide a screen grab? Conspiracy theories abound, there is also rumors they switched LCD screens to cheaper ones mid production. Take care of your Moguls folks :???:

Well, I just checked my device, and it definitely shows 400 MHz. At first I thought your phone was maybe 'stepping down' to conserve battery life, but my phone isn't running anything short of the standard apps while sitting at the Today screen.

Mine is a phone purchased as soon as it was available, and it was never patched with either the Sprint patch (which broke the keyboard in certain programs), nor with any other patch.

Does the CPU still state a QUALCOMM(R) 7500?

Just checked mine as well. Mine was replaced two days ago. LCD doesn't dimm to off so I think it is still part of the good batch, any other way to tell good batch from not so good?

under the device info, it does show that its indeed Qualcomm (R) 7500 at 400mhz. however, the today-pluggin shows that the current speed is only 300mhz. is there another program that i can use to find the exact speed of the processor?

TCPMP will give you a very realistic number regarding your clock speed.

For some reason its always a little bit lower than the reported clock (for example, on a Wizard device @ 200mhz, tcpmp reported 180mhz, and when overclocked to 240, TCPMP reported 225).

TCPMP reports that my mogul is 385mhz. That sounds like it should be about right. check what it says in options -> settings

ok, the TCPMP shows that the current speed is 385 mhz. i guess its the plug-in thats incorrect. is there another battery plug-in that shows the battery statues and the current speed of the processor?

if it shows 300 then its a 300mhz processor. Send it Back....

Yeah but maybe it's an upgraded dual core 300mhz that will blow away our 400mhz in benchmarking tests. Clock speed isn't everything. LOL
