Yeah, pretty much. However, Luv2Chill has done the miraculous...http://forum.ppcgeeks.com/showthread.php?t=9418&page=4 - you can now ditch PDANet and use the native Internet Sharing on the Mogul without Sprint detecting (or dropping) your tethering connection. Works so much better than PDANet. Enjoy.

Thanks, this solves alot of issues ..

will this also stop pdanet from dropping or no? i prefer to use pdanet because i don't have to touch the hand held to connect my mac to the internet.

I haven't had it drop yet, so it seems more reliable to me. PDANet supposedly uses an exploit in ActiveSync on your device to circumvent the tethering detection. By using straight-up Internet Sharing, it seems to be a more stable connection. It is as simple a process to connect (if not one step less) than using PDANet when making the connection.

I just gave this a try and I will have to see if it works. Any word on how it works with pdanet? I already bought the program so I am going to keep using it and I hope this fixes the disconnect issue.

One hour in now and pdanet works great Thanks. You would think Sprint would find a better way then a reg. entry to prevent people from using free modem for internet. Anyone trying to get around paying sprint for the modem would also be able to read this post and delete the reg. entry I would think.
