Bluetooth HS Sound Quality Question (When Listening to Music)

I had a ppc-6700 paired with a Jabra $30 cheapo headset and used BTAudio to transfer music to the HS. It sounded great... it had a full band of sound.. Highs, mids, and Bass(To a degree).
To make a long story short I ended up putting the Jabra through the washing machine. No more Jabra.

A week later I RMA'ed my 6700 and got a 6800 (YAY!!). I decided to pick up a new headset, I figured a $59 Motorola H500 would sound even better than my Jabra. I was wrong?

The Motorola sounds horrible when playing music with BTAudio. Its very tinny.. There is no Bass or mids to speak of and sounds like I'm listening to a song recorded onto a Soup can. It also "clips out" like the music has been put through an equalizer set on horrible. When making calls however.. people are very clear and the Headset does what I would expect.

Is this a ppc-6800 Problem or a Headset problem or what?
I have seen the posts about Bluetooth audio quality and they don't seem to be my problem?

Thanks,
Aaron

couple things. there is a reg hack to get better stereo sound out of your bt on the forum. also there is an issue with the bt working properly with the 6800...(hopefully the 10/22 rom isnt a hoax) i have both a plantronic stereo bt and a motorokr s9 and i love the quality of the plantronics, but the s9 seems to be not as good quality. i think its the bt itself, not the phone though

Clarification

jammerjamming:

Thanks for the response.. But the stereo won't apply to me.. I'm using a Headset (One ear) and not Headphones (Two Ear, Stereo). The reason is because where I work I can't wear headphones (Apparently the Bosses don't think music is something to have while working :protest:), but I can wear a Bluetooth Headset (For making/receiving calls) and no one is the wiser. :headbang:

I saw the Reg hacks for the BT.. I suppose I'll give the Bitrate setting a shot and report back.

Thanks,
Aaron

Tried setting BitPool to 48 as per Microsoft instructions and 80 as per this forums directions.. No change, Same quality :( (After a soft reset BTW)

Perhaps it is a BTAudio Problem... because my sound while *in call" is EXCELLENT!

if your in call is good i would leave it be.... i just did the stereo reg hacks as i just now noticed them and its a huge improvement with my headphones!!!

BTAudioToggle the same

Same quality with BTAudioToggle as well... this sucks :angry7:
I forgot to mention that TCPMP and WMP sound the same as well.

hmmm...i originally had a jx10 and i didnt like the quality as much either. i sounded majorly monotone. i havent really tried any other bt with the mogul yet. maybe someone else can chime in with their experience

I have the same problem when playing mono BT audio on my Mogul, sounded horrible. Now I am using the Jabra BT8010 Stereo headphone,it sounded great(you don't have to wear 2 ear buds,I just wear one on my right ear,it sounded very nice).

2kmy477:

Ya, I can't complain about actual bluetooth Stereo Headphones made for music.. I also tried a A2DP Stereo Set and it sounds great... but if I'm understanding it correctly, a Headset (One with a Mic) doesn't use A2DP (Correct?)... so I'm going to exchange this Motorola for another Cheap Jabra and see what happens.

I would use the earbuds, but two things... I cant use any kind of headphones at work... and I guess my ears have a weird shape, damn earbuds never stay in more than 10 seconds without falling right out.. I'm not like the elephant man or anything though. :)
