Don't belittle the last firmware "update" it not only let Sprint try and sell you things you don't care about - it also f'ed up the keyboard so it had TWO purposes not just one.

I like the way everyone sites the one poster who also claimed the firmware update would be out in September as the gospel truth on the 10/22 release date. I find their posting no more credible than the poster who said the 6800 was being discontinued due to design/manufacturing issues that couldn't be fixed via firmware update.

Until HTC or Sprint even officially acknowledges the issues with the 6800 I have nearly zero confidence that there is a firmware update in the works to address the 6800 issues.

I hope you're kidding about getting up at 4am for a ROM update. It's not even confirmed that this will be released today. It's just a rumor from what I've heard. I've seen no official news from Sprint regarding this yet.

I don't have time right now but if someone wants to call Sprint Technical Support Tier 2: 1-866-588-9907, they should be able to give us an idea if there is going to be an update to the ROM or at least point you in the right direction to get that information.

Our Sprint rep Confirmed it with her data rep for the district that it was to be released on the 22nd. And that was last Monday.

sorry not sure if that was a joke as today is the 22nd
