Mogul for handheld GPS
 

I was have a Sprint Mogul that I would like to give to my godson for a GPS unit as well as video watcher when he is camping with the scouts. ( lucked into a solar charger for use in the field) Has anyone managed to get the GPS to work with GARMIN Mobile XT? I've spent several hours on the web and most pages are dead in links. The XT is installed. But keeps seeking a Bluetooth connection. Other then that. The Garmin Software is working great.

My guess is that the garmin is still locked out. My garmin xt works with no problems on my unit. Did you set up the license file correctly?

I loaded the GARMIN to the MicroSD card ( Which I have done on several Touch Pros) once in the cell it did the install. I used the modaco GPS unlocker prior to this. When the Garmin Launches. It shows the Agree not to input data while driving screen. Once past that it goes into a search for a bluetooth GPS device. Other then that everything works ok. What steps did you use to install it on your 6800? This is on a Sprint Mogul version.

I thought of that.. but I could not find in the Garmin where to change the port. It is the XT version ( has rep@cked by re$trected )

So open garmin click the satellite bar graph and change away.

No Joy " Ghost Rider" where the Sat Bar should be, is a BT symbol with search glass. When I click on it. It shows the search screen for Blue tooth again. I noticed that the GUI is different from my Touch Pro. I wonder if the Windows Mobile version could be causing this.

No it has to do with you installing and setting up the license. The license is locked to bluetooth only i dont remeber how that is done or removed.

when I attempt to get the unit ID via mapsource. It only shows one "0" which I know can not be right

How is this for odd. By mistake, inserted the MicroSD from my TouchPro into the mogul. The garmin worked like a charm. Different screen then my Pro. Put it back in the Pro. Screen was the still the changed one. So I took the card for the Mogul and installed via the touch pro. danged if it shows the BT symbol again.. something is odd here. The original card in my Pro still works in both.....odd indeed

the card contains the license that is why. once you fix the card it will work on any phone. Their license is tied to the sd cards internal number.

odd... my last post have vanished.. and nothing was said out of line. What I had posted was " I inserted the card from my touchpro and it worked fine." So I installed the software package to a 1gig via the pro..it worked great on the pro.. moved to mogul and the BT thing came up again. inserted the 8gig from the pro into the mogul again the package worked! very odd

Post #13 is there dude. and I stated the software it tied to the card. After one card is working it will work on any phone.

Roger that... for some reason I do not see the post. I saw yours.. but not mine. Odd.. since I had been off line and new loaded the page... will keep you updated on what happens. Getting a new card this weekend. Have a grand weekend!
