PRL Updating

So, as I'm just getting into all of this, I'm trying to figure out all of the terminology and acronyms. From what I understand, the PRL has some sort of radio information regarding frequencies and roaming connections.

I've seen a few threads also mentioning that PRL updates may improve data speeds.

As I have a Mogul running on Boost, which is basically Sprint's PCS network without roaming, how could I update my PRL to whatever it needs to be in order to have the correct information and highest speeds?

Thanks all!

PRL (Preferred Roaming List) tells your phone which network is the preferred one to connect to when roaming. If I understand correctly, it does little or nothing for you if you are not roaming. Most of the threads that I have read concerning this are discussions about people who live in the "Tween" areas and roam frequently, even when they are around home. Some folks have said that the updated PRL helps with data speeds, I personally have never noticed a difference.

Anyway, www.corolada.com usually has the latest PRL's listed by carrier. You download the file to your phone, dial ##775# and enter your unlock code. Alltel's unlock code is 000000, I can't tell you what it is for others. Highlight the Update PRL option, tap Menu then Edit and use the Browse button to point to the file you downloaded. The rest is pretty self explanatory once you get there. I think the phone soft resets after you finish.

I hope this helps,

Most the prl on colo are out of date. Try to find a more recent on by searching google. They haven't updated it since around the first of the year.

SPRINT PRL 60653 is posted in this thread.

Edit: PRL 60654 is being pushed to devices as we speak.
