Can't receive MMS anymore?
 

I have a xv6800 flashed with RM 2.2 Heavy and running on cricket. All was well until the past 3 days. I can get on the web no problems send and receive text messages and send pictures. But I can not receive picture messages anymore. I have reset the phone, checked all the settings, *228 but nothing seems to work. Wen a picture message is sent I get notification that there is incoming message but after a few seconds it just disappears.

Before I reflash the entire phone and have to reinsall my apps can I reinstall a cricket cab file? Or is there an easier solution?

I don't know that they have any specific carriers for Cricket, I've not come across one.

Try downloading and installing Arcsoft MMS. I had the same issue with a VZW phone that didn't have MMS available.

If you search XDA or howardsforum for Ryanmoguls Cricket wapmms cabs you'll find what you are looking for. Also have you checked your snd/rcv limits in the regestry, had cricket refresh your MMS. Cricket has has issues with the internet but I haven't read anything on MMS issues,

I am having the same issue.

I dont know that I should of touched anything because everything was working perfect... but I saw ryan mogul's "perfect" cricket pst settings, compared em to mine and said hey what the heck ill change em, they're perfect right!? Well around that time I started experiencing the problems. Btw, I had my own ROM installed when I changed these settings...

Then I installed RM's 2.1 light version, continued the same way. Notifications would appear then dissappear, would keep trying all day, it's getting pretty annoying because my battery is draining a lot faster because of this.

Now I am on bbs' wm6.5 build 23064 with arcsoft 5.2, used the cricket wap/mms cab, re-did all my pst settings.. same crap.

The PST settings are exactly as recommended. The arcsoft settings, server, ports, etc are correct and my mobile web is working, I dont get it.

Can someone plz give me some tips on what else to try? Should I call cricket and have them "refresh" mms?

i have used ryans cabs , at least with metro, they dont work properly or for very long. dont know why. but heres a link to dcds carrier cabs he has a working cricket cab.

Well I gave up on cricket. Liked the price but we were moving out of their calling area anyways. Apparently something has become corrupt with the phone. If I relock it and install the original OS it would connect to data. However if I load roms and it does not seem to matter whose, I also cooked 3 to test it will no longer connect even with the new carrier VZW. The only thing I can see different is when looking on the original roms the password for VZW is scrambled, with cooked roms it is not. Not sure if that is the issue or why it would even do that? I tried a non carrier specific rom with the same results. Maybe something in the registry that does not get replaced with loading new roms?

I use ryans ROMS and CABS and have yet to have any problems.

My suggestion for you sir is to keep your day job!

wow! harsh. good for you. i was stating the fact i did not have good luck with his cabs. they might work for some, apparently they work for you, lets try to keep the criticism down a bit.
