i have done this with my mogul and have noticed a better batt life - went from a little over 1 day of normal use to about 2 days. Still - when the batt life gets down to under 30 percent it seems like anytime someone calls it doesn't wake the phone up - it just waits until i manually wake up the phone then rings once and shows that i have a missed call. oh well - as long as i keeo it above 30 percent it works fine and hopefully they'll fix that with the next rom update

I downloaded the hacks this afternoon and see minor improvement

I got my Mogul a week ago and the last week, I had to charge the phone at least 3 times everyday ( I was browsing the net, watching slingplayer, playing Youtube/Video Google and had Active Sync running 24/7 to fetch my work email. Guess all this drained my battery rather easily. However, this afternoon, I found this site with the hacks. Installed it this afternoon (I installed both speed and power hacks. It has run on my Mogul for about 5 hours and I have not noticed any problems. I have also noticed a minor increase in browsing speed and after 5 hours of medium usage, my phone hit 5% level ready to be charged. Tomorrow is going to be the real test to see how many times from morn to night I will have to charge it with more than mediocre usage - you know slingplayer, youtube and the works. Hopefully it lasts. Will keep you posted, how it goes tomorrow!

Welcome to the forums!

Wow...I would not define that as 'medium' or moderate usage. It's no wonder why you need to charge your Mogul a few times a day...

Eureka! Eureka! This works, works absolutely fine

You know its been almost a week since I installed this hack and I must say =D>=D>

It has SIGNIFICANTLY improved my battery life, I still use this to watch at least 1 hour of slingbox or youtube/google video while at the gym and I have my active sync set up to receive my work emails instantly from my exchange server and also my gmail gets check every 5 minutes.

WORKS GRRRRRRRRREAT!!!!

thanks guys. I'm gonna try these now, actually. I'll go for some heavy usage throughout the day tomorrow and see what's up. I text about a hundred in and out each day. spend a fair amount of time roaming. as well, maybe 15-20 minutes of wi-fi usage a day. also some ev-do when I get it (I'm on the fringe of St. Louis, so it goes in and out). and maybe an hour of music a day. usually I come home with about 20-30% battery. which, honestly, is a lot more than I can say for my Apache. But it could use some improvement.

Question:
do the battery hacks have any effect on the charging time?

I guess I'm the only one with a crap mogul then. I installed these hacks and to tell you the truth I can't see any improvement at all. I have even resorted to turning off bluetooth entirely on my phone and still have to recharge it twice a day to keep it from going off before 7:00pm and that's with taking it off the charger at 8:00am and using the phone for 20 mins a day. No granted I do use a VPN and a sync to my exchange server every 5 mins. But on the weekend when i turn these off I don't see a jump in battery life, maybe 10%.

first off either go as items arrive if youre using exchange or every hour for manual. every 5 min is jsut gonna suck your battery dry fast. if you do as items arrive it only opens the connection when there is mail, or else go every hour. second keep bluetooth off if youre not using it. 3rd it depends on your service where you are, if youre inside with only 1 bar or a weak signal battery will die faster

ive had my phone off the charger 15 hours now with my exchange server as items arrive till 10pm and then every 2 hours 10pm till now ~3am, and 2-3 bars of service, and still have 50% left battery. made a 2 min phone call to check my voicemail and a lil PDA usage entering stuff in.
Please read what I wrote before replying to my post; otherwise you make yourself look like an idiot.

What I said was that I have turned off bluetooth completely, I have also turned off my VPN and internet connection (on the weekends) and I see absolutely NO improvement. I then said that on the during the week I have to charge my phone twice a day when using the VPN, and Exchange updating every 5 mins. Also as for coverage my house is less than half a mile from the nearest tower I get 5 bars in my house so it's not a reception problem.

Now thanks for the advise on the As Items Arrive I didn't know that but it really doesn't help me because for some reason whey I turn on as items arrive it doesn't work. It won't let me connect I have to shut off my VPN and then reconnect and set it to some other option for it to work again (which probably isn't a problem for this post). But needless to say I'm glad that it works for all of you but in my case it DOES NOT work.

I also want to say that I haven't done the speed hacks? Do I need to do this in order to get the battery boost? I thought if I did it would actually eat more battery and I want to stay as fcking far away from less battery tweaks as possible!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
