(External) GPS working with MOGUL!

Thanks to some of the guys here I got my Mogul working with the i.trek M5+.

Setting it up was a breeze.
It doesnt really work with Google Maps but with Live Search it works great!!!

Not a bad deal for another $50-$60 invested on itrek m5.

Any better mapping softwares for the mogul(maybe evev with voice navigation)?

FYI, it's not a big deal getting an external GPS receiver to work on the mogul. You had me all excited for a second.

Lol... same here (and I noticed that you now are putting reference threads there... great )

Same here. I hate it when the Signal-to-Noise ratio drops on these forums.

anyone using other/better mapping software than live maps or google maps?

Existentialism 09-13-2007 07:42 PM

Yeah, I'd love to know if anyone has anything better.

Smart2go

I found this one today and I am still testing it out but it works great so far. I think you have to pay for the navigation but the maps are free, or something like that. Has the turn by turn, rotates the map in the direction of travel, on screen GPS readout, decent search engine......

Help me test it out and let me know what you think

well, i'm using IGUIDANCE 4.0 with GPS hollux 1000 ($28 on ebay) and works beautifully. i have to rank IGUIDANCE the best navigation software i have used. This things has everything. just to tell u that it announce all the street something like this (in 200 meter turn right on to morris avenue and u have arrive at your destiantion, 1187 morris on the left). it has 3d view. and the entire usa map only took 1.1gb (yes alot of space but considering it announce every street in the usa i think is fine)

I heard iGuidance is a good software but I don't really want 1+GB of storage used to hold the map of the entire country when I never leave Florida. From my understanding you used to be able to load portions of the map on previous versions but not with the new version, I'm looking for something that will let you run portions. I tried using MioMap because you can just load certain regions but I could not get it to recognize my external GPS.

iceman40 09-17-2007 07:11 AM

iGuidance u only have to load the states u want to use

not with the new iguidance 4.0, it only has 1 big file compressed, that has the entire USA map. i used the 3.1 version before and it did give me the choice. but i really don't care. my 2gb microsd, is enough for the map all software and 500mb available space i still have.

Existentialism 09-17-2007 11:35 AM

Wow, sounds awesome, i'll try both of those out.
