imap issue
 

so I've had my mogul for a month or so now, and I tried to set up imap to connect to my personal mail server when I first got it. I wanted to use IMAP since this is how I have outlook on my home machine set up to read my email and it stores read/unread status and things like that on the server.....

anyways.... it takes the mogul a -rediculously- long time to check an imap account. I thought this was due to the fact that I had lots of folders and the main inbox was huge, but I created a completely empty account and tried to sync to it and it did the same thing. I'm talking 2-5 full minutes+ here. I set it up for pop and it works at a very normal speed.

has anyone else had this problem? is there a solution?

I use IMAP as well as an Exchange account... The IMAP account takes about 5-10 seconds to load my inbox.... and set changes. Perhaps it is the mail server you are using?

Are you using the Mogul's built in Messaging app for your IMAP mail? I did the same thing and it took forever, just like it does for you. However I got FlexMail 2007 and it's much faster. It's really a better e-mail application all around than the OEM app. If you don't mind spending the cash on it, I highly recommend it.
