Data question
 

Okay I am brand new to smartphones, so sorry if I sound like such a noob.

I bought a used 6800 on eBay and activated it on my $30 SERO plan. Phone calls and text messaging works, but I can't connect to mobile web or check my email or anything. The phone claims it is dialing #777, and then appears to connect, but Internet Explorer gets hung up on when "Locating" and then sends the error "Could not load page..." Other programs dependent on data such as NFL Mobile won't connect either. In the Connections prefs it is set up to connect to #777 with no username or password. I tried playing with settings in ##DATA# but nothing seemed to make a difference. I believe I am on the stock ROM (not even really sure what a ROM is...I'm a Mac guy).

Any suggestions? I chatted with Sprint customer service and he had me do some stuff in ##DATA# but it didn't work so he gave up.

Here is what you need to do.
Get the DCD Sprint Carrier cab from here and transfer it to your device, but don't install yet.
Go to Settings/Connections/Connections/Manage Existing Connections. Tap and hold on the cellular connection. Usually labeled Sprint. Delete the connection.

Install the carrier cab by navigating to the file location with file explorer. Tap on the file and install to the device. Try and open PIE and see if it connects. If not, soft reset and you should be good to go.
