Re: Please help! Activesync stuck on looking for changes

I think the following:

COM+ Event System
DCOM Server Process Launcher
DHCP Client
Universal Plug and Play Device Host

Also, there is a full guide here:

http://www.pocketpcfaq.com/faqs/t-shootactivesync.htm

it may be out dated but may be of some use...also active sync has its own log files as well

Yes, I found that site and made sure all of those were turned to automatic and started. It still isn't working. AARGH!

I guess your only options left are:

Hard Reset

Bluetooth

Making a Virtual PC of XP and syncing through there

I think you're right. I've tried Blutooth once before and couldn't get it to work at all. I have no idea how to make a virtual PC of XP. Guess my only option is to do the hard reset. That I do know how to do. I just hate to have to reinstall and set everything back up.

Thanks for all your efforts!!! I really appreciate it.

There was a utility where you can save the settings/programs you want and when you do a hard reset it will reinstall all the items on first boot. Similar how carriers load their crapware on the phones when you first turn it on.

Here is a pciture guide for generic bluetooth syncing:

Here is one of the options for autoinstalling:

There is also a simpler alternative with a bit less features:

Just when I'm about to give up... I unplugged the phone from the USB cable; and although it never said it was synchronizing and ended up with an error, the contacts have been put back onto the phone. I've added the calendar to the categories and seeing if it does the same.

Nope, didn't work. Well, it was worth a shot!

Maybe it is just being EXTREMELY slow?

Well as Microsoft would say "Its not a bug, its an undocumented feature"

"Undocumented feature." LOL.

I finally broke down and did the hard reset. That did the trick. It took me way less time to reinstall all my programs into it than I spent trying to find a way around it.
