Did it still do it on stock with nothing installed?

I saw. I am trying to determine if it's something he/she is installing later on in their process, or if it's something inherently wrong with the phone.

Re: crazy screen

he was trying an array of custom roms when it started, it would do it on all of them so he switched back to stock and relocked hoping it would stop but it kept up on stock so he went to get an exchange but no luck (no tep) so he has a no warranty phone with a crazy screen.

after each flash, and again after the problem starts for the first time, no such luck.

I'm not going to get into questions of legality (I'm no lawyer), but that should work. People made much much much shadier trade-ins when some of the companies were upgrading people to the Touch Pro. Chances are extremely likely that the insurance company would not care or notice. I'm not going to advocate either way, but that certainly seems like a plausible solution.

He could also look on eBay and try to buy a used one. It may be a similar price to the insurance costs.

Yes that could work, I would consider it slightly legal. But I dont know how he can sign up for TEP after 30 days of having the phone.

Re: crazy screen

well alltel said no to a warranty exchange, but with them you can add insurance anytime you want, which is nice. Also i have seen the phone in person, as he is my roommate. I will tell him to go ahead and try his insurance deal then. thanks for all the info.

Re: crazy screen

FIXED: what we did was downgrade to an older shipped alltel rom/radio and it stopped, we then upgraded back to the latest alltel shipped, and now on custom again. so far so good.
