Wmodem wont start+trying to tether in linux

EDIT: I think i read somewher eyou have to give it time to commit to rom, so im trying that now. I still would like any input from anyone who runs linuxand would like to tether natively. im very close just need a little help

I need to know. The wmodem key you see when you do the reg hack to tether. It changes itself back to zero every time i set it to 1.

I think its there to enable starting of the wmodem exe thatms left in the windows folder. I know in wm6 they booted wmodem, but i need to try and useit cause I seem to be the only friggin linux user in the world with this phone and i want to be able to tether without starting xp in a virtual machine :(

Im wondering if I cant use ndiswrapper since this phone is seen as an rndis device instead of bothering with wmodem. with wm6 its seen as an ethernet device.

Is anyone out there? cmon linux users! you guys here cant all be zombie windows users..surely!!

dude i'm clueless about linux.. but i'd say skip the native DUN.. like you said, it identifies itself as NDIS.. no need for DUN.. and it'll be faster as a network device than a modem (at least it is in XP)

I'm using Ubuntu as well, got close a few times but need to figure out a few hang ups to get it working.. Lets figure this out :-)
