HTC audio manager library???
I have been trying to get the 6 button HTC touch and HTC audio manager working with my phone. I just got a 2 gig micro SD card and out my music on it. But I can not figure out how to make it search the card for the songs. It only is able to find the songs (ringtones) saved on the main memory....
Any help Thanks Tom |
FYI i did this and it worked perfectly. Edit the registry as follows:
HKLM\SOFTWARE\HTC\AudioManager\Config device_scan_path_type_0 set to 0 device_scan_path_path_0 set to whatever location you want it to search for music "\Storage Card\Music" device_scan_path_path delete this Now do a soft reset |
i don't recall ever having to do this and my audio manager scans all my music in my storage card and none of the ringer files. can't remember if i had to do anything at all or if it was automatic.
matter of fact, i looked at my registry and i don't have the values posted above, yet it still scans storage card. |
i can see my storage card
the problem is, i have all my ringtones in the library too! i don't want 20 sec mp3's playing! is there a way to restrict the library to just one folder (on storage card) ? i noticed a place in the registry in the audiomanager for ringtones i tried changing it, but on soft-reset, it just changed back any ideas ? |
why don't you just keep all your ringtones on your device in \Application Data\Sounds, like I do. My music is in \Storage Card\Music and HTC Audio Manager finds them, while leaving out the ringtones. Unless you have 5000 ringtones, it really isn't going to take up a lot of space on your device.

this would take a while, as i spent a while assigning ringtones to every contact (150)
is this really the only way to do it ? |
Im having a problem with HTC audio too, Every time i try to perform this registry hack and soft rese the " device_scan_path_path" is still there. What do i do ?
|
More importantly if you have all you tones on your phone and it crashes you lose them. I keep a copy of them on my phone and SD card, for when I do a hard reset.
I think the hack mentioned earlier does what you want though. |
Does Anyone know?
|
Will it work if i set the path to My Documents/My Music?
