Car charger?
which car chargers are you guys using. i got a cheap one and it doesn't help at all it will just keep it at where it is. like if im at 20% it will just keep it at 20% not go to 30 % and up. the OEM wall charger is great i can get to 100% in a short time.

I got a free motorola car charger when I purchased my device. Works like a charm.

Has anyone found a charger you DONT have to use the adapter with? Does anyone know if that is what the HTC OEM is?
Only having 2 adapters sucks cause I need one for the USB cable, the home and the car charger.. And wouldn't mind a 4th one for at work. |

As for a car charger, I made a thread exactly like this a week or 2 ago because I was wondering the same thing. Everyone seems to be using generic mini USB chargers from Wal-Mart or RAZR chargers. I grabbed a generic from Target, though I can't speak for how well it works yet. I took it on a 10 hour road trip and it didn't seem to charge my phone up, but I'm sure that's because I was steady using Google Maps, browsing the internet, and playing games (I was not driving ;)). It kept my phone alive the whole trip at least. |
Check out this thread: (I think this is the one that kevxross referenced)

Wow I feel kinda dumb. I just looked at the shape and assumed that I shouldn't force the mini usb plug into my Mogul :)
Anyway I'll be taking home a Moto OEM charger tonight because they seem to throw out more charge than most of the others. **But if you don't want your adapters you could donate them here :) ** |
yea idk which to get because i need it to charge the phone fast not just keep it alive.
|
Yeah, the issue is though that the Mogul charger is 5V at 1 amp. Even the Motorola travel charger is 850 mAh so even that isn't quite enough. None of the vehicle chargers show the amperage output but most of them are probably in the 500 mAh area.
So, unless someone has the means to measure the output on their car charger, or knows where we can find a charger with 5V 1 Ah then it is going to be hard to get the phone to actually "charge" in the vehicle. |
This guy claims that his charger puts out 1A. It is intended for an Ipod, but it looks like if you supply your own USB to mini-USB cable it should work. The voltage is correct.
**Disclaimer: I have not tried this product. I just Googled 1A car chargers. Use at your own risk** http://cgi.ebay.com/Capdase-iPod-USB...QQcmdZViewItem |
