Rev.A Question

Okay, I'm new to the PPC world, as I just switched to the Titan from my BB. So far, I've updated the ROM to DCD's 4.1.2 and the radio to the latest Alltel Radio. I've been trying to see if rev. a was enabled or not, and so far I haven't been able to. I've searched this among many other forums for info on it, and maybe I'm missing something.

One of the other threads suggested doing ##778, going into the Data Parameters subcategory, which I did, and seeing if there were an option for Rev. A. My Titan doesn't have that option... What do I need to do to enable the Rev. A?

Thanks in advance.

Re: Rev.A Question

Its 6.1, but I was kind of expecting to see some sort of confirmation is all. Either way, cool and thanks.

I'm already running 40051 on it. Its a little faster, but I don't know. Somewhere it was mentioned that the PRI may factor into the speed, however I've had no luck updating it as of now. I may re-flash the alltel 6.1 and run customizations to get the updates and go from there.

Doesn't alltel do *228 updates for the prl.

Re: Rev.A Question

yes, *228 then option 2 to "update your phones roaming service"
This will update the PRL if theres one available.
Another thing to consider is if your even in a revA enabled area.
I work in Springfield MO, a very large city, and revA just went active a few months ago.

It does, but it pushes a 3XXXX series to PPCs (in my experience). Its just as easy to grab theanswerman's 4XXXX prls and manually install them. I've had better luck using the 4XXXX series than the 3XXXX.

Also, RevA is enabled here, AFAIK. We're about to go Verizon live in about a week here in northwest FL. The phones in the alltel stores read rA, and I know someone with a Touch Pro also reading rA.

I don't know how much difference there is between the 4XXXX series and the 3XXXX series. I was pulling 40051 with my BB at last report. I've since activated my titan and was dismayed to see only the latest 30000 series. I find the 40051 to generally pull better reception, but YMMV. In the past, 40000 allowed EvDO roaming on more networks, but i'm hearing that the 30000 series is now starting to allow EvDO roaming.
