Mobile Internet Question

Is there any downside to have internet always connected to sprint? I heard somewhere that if your transfering data, that you cannot recieve phone calls? Is that true? Sorry, I am new to this whole mobile internet thing. Reason I ask is because i want to always be connected to update my weather.

I leave AIM connected all day and I still get calls (as long as I am in EV-DO territory and not 1X).

As long as you're in EVDO coverage, you can get calls even if you have an active data session. But if it drops to 1x and you're transferring data, calls will go to voicemail. You can also kill your battery faster if you have a data connection because certain applications could be actively polling.

That said, I leave my Mogul connected all day and I haven't noticed any problems with receiving calls or battery drains.
