- ill meet you there- this is what comes out -illl mt yo thr- i have not abused the keyboard but i have dropped it once. it fell out when i laid it on my jacket and not knowing it was there pulled it out of the car with the cell on it. it fell and was still working. now it has a problem much later. is the keyboard screwed up? how do i fix it if its keyboard problem? |
Re: anyone else have this problem?
the refurb replacement sprint gave me has this problem with the keyboard. the "function" key "y" and "left arrow" all screwed up i need to push harder then the rest of the keys for them to work. quite annoying if you ask me. the left arrow key has to be pushed in so hard its not even worth using it. sprint hasent seen the last of me yet.

Re: anyone else have this problem?
Why not send it back and it another refurbished one because it is broken.

yeah i have to do the same thing. is it because of the physical keyboard or the program or is the wiring inside, flex cables? |
Re: anyone else have this problem?
It could be physical or inside damage. As long as your phone is in good shape then they should fix the problem if you have insurance.

Re: anyone else have this problem?
I just got a "new" mogul last monday. When I first started texting on it, the backspace key would not work. 1 hour later, it was working just fine. Haven't had an issue since. I don't believe it would be a software issue in your case...it's probably hardware. The cable may be frayed in certain places, preventing certain keys from functioning all the time. The keyboard worked perfectly prior to dropping it, correct?
|
Re: anyone else have this problem?
it did work before and right after i dropped it.
the typing problem didnt come up after moths later. |
Re: anyone else have this problem?
Then, the issue is probably unrelated to dropping your mogul. This may have happened anyway. If you have insurance, make a claim. With Sprint, if the issue is not related to water damage, or physical damage beyond normal wear and tear, the phone should be replaced without charge. Just google sprint self service replacement

Re: anyone else have this problem?
i have no insurance.
another problem i have is i had opened it up to clean the screen under the front bezel. now my touch screen doesnt work. the screen lights up like normal but the touch part does not. i was told that i may have damaged my flex wire. so now i need to find where i can get this part from. any advice on this? |
Re: anyone else have this problem?
Try to find a parts mogul, or one with a bad esn, and swap out the parts.

Re: anyone else have this problem?
is it worth trying to fix this phone?
is the cost going to justify it? i plan on getting a new phone by the end of the year. i just cant find a phone i like so far. |
Re: anyone else have this problem?
It's been awhile since I've torn apart any of my Titans, but *I BELIEVE* the digitizer and LCD have two separate flex cables. Replacing a digitizer isn't hard, but you can crack your LCD in the process (done it). Digitizers are pretty cheap, check eBay. You'll most likely need to solder the new flex cable, so be careful.
As for the keyboard, try finding a replacement keyboard on eBay. I purchased one for $20 after shipping and handling and it's working great after several months. The keyboard issues are common on the Titans, so I would expect any replacement keyboard to eventually show the same problems. |
Re: anyone else have this problem?
oh ic, i just saw it on ebay. i thought it was just the flex wire. how do i know for sure its the digitizer vs. just the flex wire?
because the screen works (lights up like normal with no blurs or issues) just when i use the touch part nothing happens. also everything was working just fine till i opened it, cleaned it and closed it. i didnt disconnect the flex wire that connected the screen to the main board. i only disconnected the flex wire that connected the keyboard, but the keyboards has worked like crap for a year now. |
Re: anyone else have this problem?
if the touch screen functionality doesn't work, it's the digitizer. it could be the ribbon from the digitizer that is messed up, but even if it's not.... the digitizer needs replaced.

Re: anyone else have this problem?
im curious now, how delicate is the digitizer screen?
i guess i was pressing kinda hard to clean all the edges with soap and water. so im not sure if its the soap and water that damaged it or my pressing on it kinda hard. just wanted to know so not to make the mistake again in the future. |
Re: anyone else have this problem?
local seller sucks
edit: i have just dealt with the business and the customer service is horrible. i dont recommend them. i did remove the link to their site. |

That looks like the newly innovated automatic text abbreviation feature recently introduced by your carrier. |
Re: anyone else have this problem?
First you never use soap and water on electrical components. That is probably your main problem.
|
Re: anyone else have this problem?
the water is not on the components. it was just on the screen and nothing else.
|
Re: anyone else have this problem?
It does work well with your screen either.
|
Re: anyone else have this problem?
i got the digitizer and it still doesnt work.
