File explorer lag when opening windows directory

All of the sudden, I takes almost 2 minutes just to open the windows directory using wm file explorer. The window wheel icon will keep spinning for minutes.

The files that I added to the windows directory were wmvdecoder.dll and wmadecoder.dll (for TCPMP), started the delay. After deleting them, things ran fine again. So does this mean that adding files to the windows directory will cause this lag??

With total commander, it loads the directory a lot faster. But adding just 2 .dll files to extend the load time from 4 seconds to 2 minutes is wack.

Try un-checking "show all files" in the menu. When you view the windows folder having that checked will cause the type of delay you describe. :)
