Hello,

I really want program that will automaticaly lock my phone within like 1 minute of not touching it. The locker that comes with the phone sucks.

Thanks

I am using this as well but it is a memory hog and the slide can be hard to unlock with one hand. Anything else out there?

Doesn't OnLock work on WM6? It's the best imho.

There's a registry edit to minimize the memory footprint. Takes longer for it to load though.

Change registry setting so that you can use D-pad in addition to sliding to unlock. No problem with one hand.

I found OnLock and DeviceLock to be flakey and I couldn't get them to work consistently. Slide2Unlock isn't perfect, but I've found it to be the best solution out there at the moment.

mpancari 08-08-2007 05:39 PM

This is a serious issue that needs to be solved the power button rubs up against my stomach when i sit down and opens the phone then the touch screen rubs on on the case and calls people. I wouldnt want to use slidetounlock because of the memory problem. Anything else out there, I cant seem to find anything.........?

thanks

letsgoflyers81 08-08-2007 05:46 PM

Slide2Unlock gets around the memory problem by not having it always running. You can set it so the lock doesn't activate until the device wakes up from sleep. It sometimes takes a second before it actually locks, but it avoids wasting 5mb of RAM. Like I said, Slide2Unlock has its problems, but I need something and it's the best thing out there IMHO.

how do you do this? I know about CloseApp=1 or 0 for the memory issue but didn't know about the dpad

I have found this as well. My work around was to assign the DeviceLock to the voice dial button and manually do it. I would prefer that it does it consistently on wake, but alas it is not that hard to just hit the button.

Product Information
Phone ScreenLock is a small and very simple in use program. It will make your phone talks more comfortable. Now there is no risk to start another program because of a casual touch of the screen with a cheek or fingers. Phone ScreenLock program locks the screen until you hang up.

But it does not mean, that additional functions of your phone are inaccessible during a call. You can unlock your phone for the whole talk, or for the certain period of time after which the screen and the keyboard will be locked automatically again.

If you make many important phone calls and you do not want your talk to be interrupted because of a casual touch of the screen or buttons, Phone Screenlock is the best solution for you!

not a useless post at all!!!

Slidetounlock 1.19 has a major issue IMHO making it unusable beyond the memory hogging. Maybe I am doing something wrong because I assume others would report this experience as well...

I live on the coast and have serious coverage issues which may contribute, however with slidetounlock active when my phone is sleeping many times calls will not ring through. It is not consistent but happens often.

When I turn on the phone to use it - bang - all sorts of rings and messages simultaneously and multiple calls are missed and voicemail lights up. Not good for business... I have tried every reg tweak mentioned including:

Quote:

"If your device does not have any abnormal behaviour with the previous version, you may ignore these settings.

When "NoSuspendMode" is set to 1, the "OffLCD" & "ACOffLCD" will be disabled. It'll untouch the Power Management and leave it back to the OS.

When "SafeMode" is set to 1, iLock will not enter the "Unattended mode" (this is a special mode for the background jobs to run but without turning on the LCD). The device may need to soft-reset for "SafeMode" to be enabled."
and the phone still "freezes" when sleeping.

I have yet to find a solid program and resort to the stock today plug in (as ugly as it sounds).

The product mentioned above by Hobbes sounds enticing but the description is about locking the screen when talking not when sleeping...

The GREAT question remains... is there a simple, reliable program which locks the phone on power-off??

Works great. I assigned it to my comm manager button. Since we have a button to manually turn off and on wifi, using that button as a device lock is more convenient.

Guys Slide2Unlock has been totally redone and works great, much less memory footprint.

I like MoerSaver. When assigned a button it locks everytiong down, except the assigned button. ip power is pressed it shows klock and baterry status.

The MortPlayer is also verry cool.

Is there just some way i can assign a button (comm manager) to unlock and lock. I hate using the power button and would rather have it just lock and unlock it.

Check out DeviceLock. You can assign it to a button to lock it, but you'll still have to hit the on screen unlock button. It can be configured to unlock with out hitting the second on screen unlock button.

Geez bro. You opened a thread thats a year old. You posted in the wrong thread for the wrong issue and have the wrong device (although similiar) for this forum. Thats 3 strikes off the rip. To answer your Q though, you cant. Its not like a PC you can take apart and add more RAM to. Only thing you can do is get a card or a new phone.

[EDIT] Also, use spell check next time please.

[EDIT2] Also, fix the device number you have in your profile because you have "HTC 2585".
