FTP vs. ActiveSync
 

I often transfer relatively large (~150MB) video files from a PC to the Mogul. I generally use ActiveSync but don't really like it b/c if it has a problem it won't resume the transfer and the progress bar generally is meaningless.

Is there any downside to using an FTP program?

What is ActiveSync converting when it says it's converting during the transfer? Is it just CR/LF inconsistencies in text files??

heck no theres no downside.... since i dont use bluetooth, i use ftp to transfer wirelessly. i hate that activesync status bar as well.

i think the 'converting' is more of a format conversion, ie wav to mp3, mpeg to avi, etc etc...but ive never seen it 'convert' anything.

I use FTP or a card reader. Card reader (if readily accessible) is quicker -- FTP over WiFi is pretty quick too.

Which FTP prog are you using?

I'm pretty sure that Resco has a good FTP program for WM but I'm not completely positive.

That's what I use...Works fine!
