About to Get a Mogul...What Programs Should I Get?

There seems to be a ton of posters here who know a lot about the Mogul and phones/PDAs in general...so I figured I'd pose the question to you all.

I'd love suggestions for what I should download...so if possible, could you respond with answers to the following questions:

1) What program?
2) What does it do?
3) How do I download and install it? Link to find the download?
4) What, if any, existing program will be unnecessary once I download it? And can that unnecessary program be deleted?

I've never had a PDA, so any and all suggestions are welcome. I'll be using the PDA predominantly for calls, web-surfing, and messaging.

Thanks in advance, I appreciate you taking time out to help me.

Just search here, pdaphonehome and xda. You'll find tons of programs.

I've downloaded lots of trial versions. The ones I'll keep are AE Button Plus (can assign up to 4 funtions per button (1 press, 2 presses, 3 presses, and long press). It works great, and just doing 3 buttons that way has meant 9 extra functions that I don't have to hunt for.

Also Reco Explorer, Resco Registry (editor), Google Maps, Flash 7 for PPC, Total Commander.

This Mogul ROCKS, and I'm only 3 days in......

All the home plugins tend to add too much crap I don't want, so while I like Wisbar Advance 2 + Wisbar Advance Desktop, SPB Mobile shell and HTC home plugin, I always end up ditching them eventually.

Weatherpanel is nice.

HTC X-button, makes it so you actually close programs when you click the X (not needed if you are using Wisbar Advance 2 or SBP Mobile Shell).

I like Wawa Wake Up alarm clock. 3rd party alarm program that lets you program infra red commands so that it can turn on your stereo for example.

Octro talk or IM+ for aim/google talk/yahoo/icq

SKTools Lite, lets you clean up the registry and free up ram.

Resco File Explorer, improved File Explorer with plugins to edit the Registry, FTP access, amongst a bunch of other things.

Picsel Browser, similar functionality to the Safari on IPhone.

Google Maps.

All I can think of atm.

I have had problems with Sprite Backup. SPB released a backup program of their own and its works great with my Mogul! I also recommend the HTC Audio Manager ripped from the HTC Touch. It has a great Windows Media Center like interface and integrates with HTC Home very well. As a tip for HTC Audio Manager users, put your music in \Storage Card\Music and playlists in \Storage Card\Playlists. This way the program will have no problem finding them. Some other programs I am using are:

- SKTools
- Google Maps
- Piscel Browser
- SPB PocketPlus
- SPB Diary
