How to Brick a Titan

I want to know haw to brick my Titan. I want to be able to take it in to Sprint and try to talk them into replacing it with a TP but I cannot fidn any problems with my Titan. I have tried everything I know to brick it and none of it seems to work.

I know I was able to do this with my PPC-6700 pretty easy and Sprint could never figure out how to get it fixed. Thats how I got upgraded to a Titan in the first place.

Why not just buy the Touch Pro and sell your 6800 on eBay or Craigslist, instead of trying to go about getting one so unethically?

Glass of milk. Dunk. Go all Oereo cookie on your phone and it will never ever work again.

Right now Sprint is only giving out refurbished Moguls. The only way to get a Touch Pro is thru Asurion which handles physical damage or lost and stolen. So, you can go to Asurion and tell them the phone is lost so you don't have to bother with sending it back or you can say it's damaged. Either way you will have to pay them $100 deductible.

And yes, we all know this is insurance fraud because he is trying to intentionally do something to his phone. I'm just letting him know his options since he obviously is too lazy to search, lol.

Why doesn't any have any ethics anymore. Don't commit fraud. ust either buy it or get a replacement upgrade because of a natural failure.

The worst part is, after committing the insurance fraud. They will be the first to complain about why the insurance cost is so high.

Re: How to Brick a Titan

Keir333 is right on.
One reason most things cost so much is that companies have to cover the cost of all the fraud that occurs--who pays for that? They don't have magic "Money for Fraud" Trees out back--they pass that on to all of us. I'd be interested in knowing how much of the cost for a shiny new TP (or any other) phone would cost if everyone were honest. You want Sprint, VZ and whoever to be straight up with you??? Goes both ways.

Re: How to Brick a Titan

Don't damage the phone, don't "lose" it either. Just call asurion, say its not working right and pay the deductible to get your new phone. Insurane fraud? WTFE! You pay almost 100 dollars a year for insurance, plus the 100 dollar deductible. Thing is, insurance companies MAKE money. Thay make money becuase they don't do as many replacements that are theoretically possible (ie everyone with insurance, filing a claim). However, if a lot of people do this, it will inevitibyl lead to higher insurance premiums. But, you get 2 repacemnents a year for a reason...

Re: How to Brick a Titan

Didn't Sprint make an $8.4 billion dollar profit last year? I think they will be ok. They choose to pass on whatever costs to the consumer so they can keep making billions. But yeah, this is insurance fraud and is wrong.

Blah blah blah, wah, wah, wah. We all know the truth about the Titan. It WILL die. Its just a matter of time. I am on Titan number 5 and am just waiting for the next problem. There is no doubt in my mind that it will have problems. All you people that are pointing fingers and standing there all righteous are whiners. Just because he is being proactive in preparing for another phone problem you guys jumped all over him.

I had a Titan that I could not find an "actual" problem with but it was amazingly slow, horrible keyboard response time. No amount of new ROMs or flashes fixed it. I intentionally bricked it and returned it to VZW. The fact is that they should have recalled the phone due to its poor performance, screen issues, and overall lack of video drivers.

So, again, wah.

EDIT: For the record, I have Asurion as well but have NEVER used it. I use VZWs warranty replacement.

This is something like the third post on how to intentionally brick one's PPC in just a few weeks. What gives?

Why do people want to ruin a phone. Claim it lost, then you can keep both...

He's not being proactive about a perceived future failure of his current phone, he's asking what is the best way to commit insurance fraud

Instead of bricking your phone, you should have just called and explained to them the fact that it was "amazingly slow" and had a "horrible keyboard response time" in comparison to other 6800s you've seen/used. You most likely could have gotten a replacement for it without actually having to brick the phone and tell them that it's dead.

i hesitate to call it insurance fraud if the company knows ahat youre doing. a few weeks back an unnamed member called in to inquire about the replacement he would receive for a vogue. told them the vogue was running slow and he was thinking about upgrading to a diamond. he then told the insurance company that if they are replacing vogues with diamonds, then he would go through them and pay $50 instaed of $350. they said they would be sending a ppc 6950 (diamond) if he filed a claim. what do you think he did? did he lie, no. unethical? no. the replacement is your for WHATEVER reason you want. its just risky to use for reasons like this cause you may actually need it for a legitimate replacement. but hey, thats why you get 2 a year.

I tried in two different stores to have them replace it and they denied me. "Does it still make calls?" To which I replied, "Barely." "Then I'm afraid we won't be able to replace it." So, in order for me to have a piece of equipment functioning at normal capacity, I had to force the phone to not make calls.

Being proactive? LOL that's a stretch. Let's imagine that in another scenario. I call up my auto insurance (even tho nothing is wrong with my car and had no accident) and say "Somebody keyed my car all over it, I'm gonna need a new paint job, but could you paint it a different color? Thanks" And then he goes out and keys his own car. Just being proactive right??? LMAO it's insurance fraud, stop tying to butter it up.

Sucks you didnt notice it during the first few days when you could have taken it back...

The wifi would still works. Leave it next to your sofa in a living room for casual web browsing. It's cheaper than a laptop and very convenient.

Re: How to Brick a Titan

The reason I need to figure out how to brick it is I have the white spots on my phone caused by the overheating battery. Sprint and Assurion both tell me that they will not cover that problem anymore. Its rediculous that a manufacturing defect is not covered under a waranty and I think it is a load of crap personally.

My 6700 had so many constant problems I upgraded to the Titan. I figure it wont be any worse to upgrade to a TP and maybe eventually I will actually find a phone that will work consistently.

Save your ethics for someone else. Its not even remotely the same scenario. The difference is that your car was not sold to you BRAND EFFING NEW with a bad paint job. If it was, you'd take it bad to the original seller. (Which is what I have done with VZW) I have STILL never used Asurion and I'm on phone 22 with this carrier.
