XV6800 USB question?

Has anybody had trouble with USB connection on the XV6800? I have a phone that has the OEM ROM and Radio, and is not curently activated. When I try to connect to the phone with active sync nothing happens. My other phones connect no problem. Could the USB be bad or is there something I'm missing?:headbang:

Have you tried a hard reset?

Yea, did a HR, this phone belongs to a friend, he bought it off the FleaBay after seeing mine. His phone appears to have an OEM rom/radio, I was going to help him by loading a GPS radio and WM6.5 but I can't even begin to connect to the USB.

The ROM and Radio have nothing to do with the physical link via USB between the PC and PPC. I would try a different cable and a different USB port and maybe on a different PC.

For God's sake, learn to search people. There are so many threads on this. I can remember one from the other day that I even reposted the solution in. Turn off advanced network functionality.

I think some of us have units with defective or failing usb connections. This is the third time in 2 months that my 6800 quit connecting via usb to any pc. Whenever my device is connected it gives me the audio notification that it is charging, but no pc will recognize that a device i attached. Hard resets really stink--too much lost information. Last time the hard reset didn't even work. The advanced network functionality toggle doesn't do a thing for my device.

Re: XV6800 USB question?

I agree, I think many of the HTC devices have poorly manufactured USB connections. Maybe cheap or poorly done solder connections? The internal connection has come slightly loose on mine after a few months, so I sometimes need to plug the USB cable in at a slight angle or shift it back and forth slightly to get it to connect. I had this happen on two 6700's prior to my Titan too. I would caution not to shift it too much though, as if the solder is weak, you could end up just snapping it off the board (this is why I had TWO 6700's). I also never had the Advance Network Functionality affect my USB connection in any way.

Hope it helps!
