HTC Mogul Wap/MMS problem.

1 Attachment(s)
I've been working on this for a couple months now, back and forth and nothing seems to come out of it. I followed the steps exactly down. Problem I'm stuck with is trying to delete/rename iota.exe. I've tried both resco exe and explorer. I also tried 64,65,23,2001 prls. I have tried cooking a few sprint and altell roms and nothing seems to work. If anyone can help me that'd be great. I can great help on Moto Q9m full flash.

I tried a 6.5 Rom, and it still does not work. Is anyone here nice enought to show me what I'm doing wrong instead of hogging the secret? I know surely, most instruction online have missing parts to them.

If you have a Sprint 6800 and are trying to get it to work with Metro with full internet and messaging then I can help.

Re: HTC Mogul Wap/MMS problem.

It is a Sprint HTC Mogul ( Titan ). When I first got the phone, I flashed it to 6.5 custom ROM before taking it to the Metro store to have it flashed into their system. It was done. I then cooked a new ROM for it, and now the MSID seems to be missing. I called metro up 9-11 times. All either said that they did not know or they're not allowed to tell me due to policy....
I am pretty new at this, but I'm starting to get the hang of it. Thanks in advance for taking a look at my thread. Any help would be greatly appreciated. =D>

When I go to dial the phone, its either takes me to "american roaming network or *two dial tones* and asks me to wait......with no answer". I have tried all the PRLs,: 64,65,68,68,2001.

Your MSID is your 10 digit phone number. I'm new to smart phones as well, but I have the same phone as you on Metro and I was able to get my internet and messaging fully working.

From the .pdf you supplied, how many of the steps have you completed?

How are you able to put 6.5 on your titan? I just tried it with my old one and it hit me with invalid model id. I thought it was just for TP/Diamond??

***Edit: N/M I found it lol just had to search

My friend, for 6.5 to work on Mogul you need to unlock it, then cook a custom ROM on Cooker. =) Have fun!

I put that there...but I still get "American roaming network." >_> btw, how did you delete HTC.guardian?

boomhowar 05-07-2009 02:08 AM

Re: HTC Mogul Wap/MMS problem.

I used resco to delete the htc.guardian, but i clicked on the resco image to access my rom versus the file manager in wm 6.1. I'm guessing resco acts much like a vm image and runs itself as host and then win 6.1 as guest, becaue when i search under file manager through wm i can still find htc.guardian. <- not sure if any of that is true, just a guess.

the "american roaming network" thing. My 6800 was able to make cell calls as soon as i switched it over to my metro service. My guess is that when you installed ur new rom, it wrote over some of the data in your ##778# window. Not sure if that is the reason though.

Can you check your ##778# informatoin and tell me what you have for
MSID,
Name Settings > MDN, MIN1, MIN2,
M.IP Settings > MIP_MODE
M.IP Default Profile > NAI, Home address, primary HA Address, Secondary HA Address

Then Start > Settings > Connections > Connection "please list what connections you have, and any proxies you may have set up"

I know you probably have most of above set up like the tutorial laid out, but this is most of the info I had to change to get mine working. I have another 6800 I was planning on flashing to metro soon, so when I get that working I'll make detailed notes on how I set it up. Hopefully, we can get yours working before I do that.

Re: HTC Mogul Wap/MMS problem.

Ok. So I just tested resco on another 6800 to delete htc_guardian which is responsible for reinstalling "sprint" connections in the connection tab.

Here's what I did:

First install resco.

Second: Refer back to the pdf you supplied and put the dummy "HTC_CM_Guardian.exe" onto your sd card. Should have been in a zip file with pdf.

Third: Use resco to access your SD card and copy the HTC dummy file, then use resco again to access your windows folder. Then copy the dummy into your windows folder. You will be prompted with a warning about deleting files on your rom...click continue.

Fourth: Change all your IOTA stuff

Fifth: Restart your phone. No need for reset, just hold power button down.

After doing this I was able to delete my sprint settings without having them restore automatically

Hope this works for you. Let me know if it does.

Which Resco version are you using? When I went to try and changing the Iota, it said it was not possible. Those files are "Read-Only". Are you running custom ROM?

Also, the guide does not seem clear to me on this part.

5: Goto Connections and delete any existing connections and setup a new one using the following settings: Number to dail = #777 Username: yourtendigitphonenumber@mymetropcs.com Password: metropcs Domain: (Leave Blank) Select Proxy Settings and enter the following values: wap.metropcs.net port:3128 (http)
wap.metropcs.net port:3128 (wap) wap.metropcs.net port:443 (secure wap) wap.metropcs.net port:3128 (socks) 6: Back in the "Connections" screen where you have two tabs at the bottom of the screen of "Tasks" and "Advanced", go to Advanced, click on "Select Networks" and select the name of the connection you just setup. Example if you leave as Sprint then choose that one as your internet connection and do it for both settings. MMS MAKE SURE YOUR WEB IS WORKING PROPERLY

Did he mean delete all existing connections or change it?

boomhowar 05-07-2009 01:51 PM

Re: HTC Mogul Wap/MMS problem.

You can change it or delete it. I like just deleting the Sprint Connections altogether.

This is how I deleted Sprint Connections.

Start>Settings>Connections>Connections>Manage existing connections>General> Then click on box that says "Delete Settings"

Then when you go back into connections you should see "MY ISP" and under that click on "Add a new modem connection" then add your metro stuff.

After that go back to connections and click on "Manage existing connections" and make sure your Metro connection is selected as the one to use when an app requires internet.

I use Resco Explorer 2007 v6.17
Mine came with a 30 day trial period.

Two questions for ya:
1. how are you installing resco?
2. please list all the steps you take to get to the IOTA files. Include tapping start, etc.

I got it now. After 25-35 angry calls to the idiots up at corporate. I decided to just go back to an old friend. Problem here is......Hard to phrase without getting b4/\/. MID,MSID are NOT you #. That was what I was stuck on. They specially provide a MID/MSID for you......Phone is completely functional.

Re: HTC Mogul Wap/MMS problem.

Glad you got it working. Not sure what city or network you are on, but if it's metro then your phone configuration for your area is different than mine.

I just double checked my EPST and my MSID IS MY 10 digit # and I have full internet with mms...

Pretty Odd, I think. It's probaly just my area. You heard anything about the Samsung Saga being on metro?
