Please help me! I lost everyone!!

Hello all, I have a slight problem. I was going to do a fresh install on my phone with a nice new ROM. Things have been running slow and it was time for a change. I was trying to back my contacts up in outlook so I installed outlook 2007 on my pc. After that was completed I was going to sync my phone with outlook but activesync was not working correctly. When I went to change the settings in my phone, I got ahead of myself and ok'ed a command to delete the current sync on my phone. When this happened I lost all of my contacts. http://forum.xda-developers.com/images/smilies/mad.gif B/c I never got to sync them with my new outlook I do not have any on my pc. Is there anyway to get them back? Is it stored somewhere on the phone until a new sync is made? Please help!!!

I am running a DCD 4.1.2 ROM

use your explorer and look in my documents contacts. I think. But if you gave a command to delete a sync file then I cant see why it would delete your contacts. were you storing information on a mini SD card in the phone, they may be there. If not, sorry about your luck, if they deleted from the hand set then your dealing with flash memory with an os on the same partition. Every time you reset your phone or use it, areas of the deteted files are recycled and refreshed so it will be near impossible to recover even if they ,ade software that can do that on a active memstick membank fragments

You wont find them in \Documents\Contacts. Normally the data file that contains all that info is PIM.VOL in the root directory. Depending on your your sync options are setup, could have wiped your contacts out. For example, if your device is set to sync what is on the PC and ''replace'' data then that could have been what happened. Most of us have had this happen to us once before so we learned to set AS to merge data but not replace. Also, you need to go Google and download PIMBackup to use anytime you want to make changes to your device. It backs up contact, txt, calls, ect and it free. Once your PIM.VOL file on the PPC and the outlook data file on the PC are wiped, there is no getting them back. Sorry.

From the sounds of it, no. You wiped your contacts out clean. One of those situations, live and learn. Sorry...
