Is there a reg hack to change the minutes it sync to exchange, like i have mine set for every 5 min i would like to change it to every 2 min

you did not need flash installed technically. i got the same error sunning that stupid sprint cd. you just need flash for sprints dumb frontend. you should have just navigated to the correct folder on the cd using explorer and double clicked the msi setup file.

Did you make sure you double checked that you have the most recent AS version? AS didn't work for me at first either, but a quick hit to Microsoft Update solved my situation.
