tethering woes
ok - add me to the long list of folks having troubles tethering thoruhg Sprint - Mogul 6800 WM6.1
no problems at all with my old mogul which crashed - they sent me a new (refurbished) one and I got it loaded by using a full backup from the old device. Tried to tether for the first time and I keep getting this error message: "Error code 67 - Registration failure. Your PCS vision username/password may be incorrect. Please try again." I'm a bare novice at this stuff but since it's a "new" mogul, perhaps there's some set up I should perform? I checked my connections and the only showing is Sprint PCS - #777. The username; password and domain spaces are blank. Is that my problem? Thanks! Jack |
Re: tethering woes
You have to disable the reg entries in HKKM\Comm\InternetSharing and delete or rename "Extension" and under the settings folder the "ForceCellConnection" key. then ICS should work after that.

Re: tethering woes
thanks - actually I searched and searched - tried a lot of fixes but here's the simplest AND IT WORKED!
I changed the HKLM\comm\internet sharing\settings\ForceCellCommunication key from "Phone as a modem" to "Sprint PCS" - and bingo!! I LOVE THIS FORUM!! Jack |
Re: tethering woes
oops - I SPOKETH TOO SOON! - it worked twice then that same error message came up.
so peterm - what exactly should the reg entries say under hklm\comm\internet sharing\??? currently my \settings\ folder is as follows: Default (value not set) ForceCellConnection Sprint PCS MaxCMConnectRetry 0 (0x00000000 and one level up \InternetSharing\ shows: Settings Status Default (value not set) Extension isext.dll Jack |
Re: tethering woes
do a search for Tethering fix. there is a cab that someone put together that runs all the registry edits for you. I believe I saw it in the HTP Diamond forum. but it should work for the Titan.
I believe the name of the thread is Sprint - Tethering Fix Right Here! |
