Thanks, but still no go. Man... it seems like no one has been able to get this to stop loading. I once read on some website about 6 months ago an alleged way to do it.. but I never tried it and can't find the site again :(

ok, I FOUND IT!! In addition to DISABLING the notifications regarding Activesync, here is what has to be done to keep it from automatically bringing itself back to life.

I found the solution here (last post of the thread):
http://forum.xda-developers.com/arch.../t-459851.html

"1. Kill the repllog / remote h process in the task manager (recommmend fdc taskmanager for this)
2. Disable the Repllog Notification (Apprunaftertimechange) in the Notification Window.
3 Registry hack > HKEY>CURRENTUSER>SOFTWARE>MICROSOFT>ACTIVESYNC
locate value "Keep Alive" change this to "0" for disabled. 1 will keep it alive with the remote h settings."

For some reason turning off time sync in the phone menu does it for me.

PeterG,

Still no go for me, man. I tried all three steps, installed the taskmanager, disabled the notification and hacked the registry. It worked only until I synced to my computer. After that, the repllog / remote h became active again. What I do now is hack the registry EVERYTIME I disconnect from sync.

FYI, I emailed Microsoft out of frustration. This is what I received in response:

Thank you for contacting Microsoft Customer Service.

I understand that Active Sync runs in the background of your Windows Mobile 6 even after closing the application. I realize the inconvenience caused to you.

Many Windows mobile manufacturers customize their pre-installed programs for best performance and to suit hardware requirements, and the general troubleshooting steps are not be suitable for this version. The manufacturer’s Technical Support is therefore the best resource for assistance on this issue. Therefore, you may have to contact your device manufacturer for assistance on this issue as they have the technical expertise and better understanding of the issue.

The final piece of the puzzle.

Whenever you reboot, activesync will change KeepAlive back to 1. So in addition to:

1. Kill the repllog process in the task manager.
2. Disable the Repllog Notification (Apprunaftertimechange) in the Notification Window.(recommmend fdc taskmanager for this)
3. Registry hack > HKEY>CURRENTUSER>SOFTWARE>MICROSOFT>ACTIVESYNC
locate value "Keep Alive" change this to "0" for disabled. 1 will keep it alive with the remote h settings.

You will need to..

4. Use fdcsoft's registry editor to tap and hold "KeepAlive" and select "Export..." (or chose from file menu) This will export this one value to a .reg file. Put this file in your \\Windows\StartUp folder. Now if you don't already have a program to "run" .reg files, you need to associate TaskMgr with them.
5. Using Total Commander, tap and hold your .reg file and select "Properties". Select "Associate" tab. Tap gray box that says "Associate..." In "Command" box, reference the location of TaskMgr.exe (ex. \Program Files\FdcSoft\TaskMgr\TaskMgr.exe) In "Parameter" box, leave the "%1" and add "/silent" (%1/silent) This keeps a dialoge box from popping up.
6. "OK" the changes and enjoy!

Now when windows starts it will "run" the .reg file and change the 1 back to 0. Now it's solved.
