Is My Mogul Bricked?
 

I have a Mogul and need lots of help. The current situation is that the phone will not boot at all. I can hard reset it, I can enter into the bootloader (which is no2Chem 2.47) and I can flash ROMs to it. However, when I try to boot the phone, the black HTC logo flashes for about half a second and then I get a black screen. Anybody have any idea what I should do or why this is happening? Are you flashing via SD card or USB? When the black screen comes up, what info is displayed?

I have tried flashing via USB and SD card. When the black screen comes up no info is displayed. It instantly shuts off pretty much.

EDIT:
Just tried the following:
1. Downloaded HTC's latest Sprint ROM from their website. (RUU_TITAN_SPRINT_WWE_3.56.651.0_RS_TITAN_3.42.02_ SPCS2.04_PPST_0718_Ship.exe)
2. Put the phone into bootloader / tri-colored screen.
3. Ran the EXE and let it flash.
4. Phone rebooted itself, but still didn't boot.

Interesting note, when I ran the EXE it said there was no current version listed for my phone.

This is not sounding good. You might want to flash a stock ROM. Sprint is your carrier?

You might need to relock before running the RUU. Check the Upgrades Forum for the NueSPLRelocker.

How do I run the re-locker if the phone won't boot at all?

Ok, that won't work. Try flashing this ROM. It is the 3.35 Sprint ROM for unlocked phones. Then hopefully the phone will boot and you can relock to then flash an upgrade.

Downloaded that EXE and ran it. Flashed just fine, but no luck on it booting still. Guess it really is bricked.

Sorry to hear that. When the OS did not boot, that was a bad sign.

Meh, it's not a big deal at all. I already have the same phone on Verizon. I was just seeing if I could get this blasted thing working again, so I could do some beta testing for WinMo 6.5 or Android development. Many thanks though! You rock!

I tell you what, at this point you can't hurt it any worse. Try a hard reset. The two soft keys and the soft reset using the stylus and hold for a couple of seconds.

I have tried that a couple times. It does it fine, but I don't know what's going on. Keep the ideas coming though! =D>

Well it's been awhile since I've posted to this thread since the phone not working was just frustrating the hell out of me. I recently tried something crazy and thought the results were interesting. I figured since the phone was broken, it couldn't hurt to flash the Verizon MR1 update to it. So I extracted the MR1 exe into a folder, took the RUU_Signed.nbh file there, renamed it to TITAIMG.nbh, and flashed my Sprint Mogul with it through the SD card. It completed successfully, it rebooted and it flashed the Verizon splash screen, but then after less than a second it promptly shut off the screen as it has been doing with the official Sprint ROMs. Anybody got any ideas why? Thanks!

total noob on this kind of thing...but ive ran into similar problems...but without the flashing screen thing. could it be a radio incampadibility?

if you were sellin it for parts and i had cash id buy it since my plastic shell is shot on my alltel titan. lol just sayin...
