Help!
My HTC stopped recognizing my MP3 as ringtones. They were working fine before, but now the phone won't play them. The media player will still play them, but only in the media player. What now? I have deleted them and reinstalled them.

Re: Help!
Are you using a custom ROM, ei: DCD'S, Where are you installing the ringtones?

Re: Help!
If they are on a storage card that is the wrog place. They ned to be in /Windows/Rings

Re: Help!
They are in the correct folder and not on my storage card.

Re: Help!
Can you not select them in Sounds and Notifications or do they just not play when your phone is supposed to be ringing?

Re: Help!
Are you file associations set to be used by that app or were they taken over by another app?

Re: Help!
Try converting them into .wav files using a program like audacity. I remember I used to have an issue selecting mp3s as texting tones, but wavs were fine.

Re: Help!
try putting them under documents instead of ringtones.

Re: Help!
It occurred after I installed Winvibe I believe. I have since deleted Winvibe and it did not help. I converted my ringtones to .wav format and now they work, but they are much larger in file size, so I would like to be able to go back to .mp3 format. Also, my music won't play with media player now either, so I think Winvibe changed something in my registry. I would like to stay away from a hard reset if possible, which is what USCellular said I needed to do. My phone has no modifications other than software, just for reference.
