Problem with Outlook E-Mail (Mogul)

Ok, I just put the "threaded SMS" on my phone. I then tried to set up a my email account on my phone, by entering my email address @columbus d0t rr d0t com (<~~would not let me actually put the real deal since I am new to this site...no posting URLs it said until 2 legitimate posts are made) (BTW I have Outlook 2003 on PC), but it said could not be found. So I synced it to my PC, then went to Tools, then in ActiveSync and clicked on Email so it would set it up that way. The problem I am running into is when I am in Outlook Email on my phone, I put the last 3 (most previous) emails on the phone, I go to Menu on the bottom right, and try and click on Send/Receive (but it's greyed out) to get any new emails (I sent an email to myself just to see if it would work; and was connected to internet) and nothing. PLEASE help

Sounds like you are trying to use push email? For this to happen, your email provider must be using MS Exchange and you must have the server credentials in order to sync emails OTA. Otherwise, you will need to sync with Outlook via Activesync and work offline.

Yup, I was just told by a user on Sprintusers that it will not work. (Time Warner secures it's servers). Only way to send messages is if I have it connected through Activesync which is pretty darn pointless since Outlook is on my computer. THIS BYTES .. oh well

Not sure if this will work using Pocket Outlook but...

If you use Gmail you can "add" additional email accounts (under "Settings" I believe). This can allow you run your outbound mail from other email accounts through the Gmail SMTP server.

On your device you would need to configure the SMTP server information in Pocket Outlook to match the Gmail SMTP server setup. I think you can get that information from the Help section on Gmail. They use some very specific ports and protocols.

Sorry...no time for a step by step description...must go to a meeting.
