How to set up Google Sync partnership to Active Sync on a PDA.
  1. Open the active sync application on your device’s home screen.
  2. Click the link Set up your device to sync with it.
  3. Enter m.google.com as the server address.
  4. Ensure that the SSL option is checked.
  5. Click Next.
  6. Enter your full Google Account email address as the user name
  7. Enter your google account password as the Password.
  8. Enter google into the Domain field.
  9. Click Next.
  10. Check only Contacts and Calendar.

Thank you! :thumbleft:

Works great, except no email sync. Why is it only contacts and calendar? I hope they get this fully up and running soon!

I have no word on why this is as of yet, however this does help small companies who have people in the field who need to keep an up to date calendar. Good for the small IT dept to have on hand I guess.

Re: Active Sync Exchange for GMAIL

Hi -

When I click the ActiveSync link "set up your device to sync with it" I get a page that asks for an e-mail address and below it there is a check box that says "Attempt to detect Exchange Server Settings automatically"

It is the same if I go to the menu and "Add a Server Source".

I can't seem to get to a page that simple lets me enter the server "m.google.com"

I just upgraded my Verizon 6900 to Win Mo 6.1

Any suggestions / pointer greatly appreciated.

I unchecked the box and set it up manually. No problems.

i've liked the ActiveSync with google, but having it on seems to kill my (already poor) battery life.

To keep your battery from dying that much sooner, go into active sync's settings and reset the sync times. You can have it set to push sync during your "peak times" only and change it to something that works for you.

Sorry no step by step, but my phone is out of commission for the moment due to and incident with a toddler and a rocking chair. ](*,)
