Must use wav files and drop them in the windows folder. Smaller files work better for alerts and notifications. Look here and here for a good selection or google sounds, wav

I have no prob making my own I have a program for that it is getting them in the right spot on the phone. Is it the same with Verizon or is that something else they have locked down?

Hmmm. I don't know for sure, but try moving this alert sound to the Windows folder and selected it for e-mail alert. It's the "You've Got Mail" notification.
