What should I expect from EV-DO rev A?
 

What speed do you get when using dslreports.com/mspeed? I get 833 kbit/sec in Chattanooga Tennessee by selecting the 1MB test.

Is this good? What are you all getting?

I get 3377. But I can't use the same test. Even using the 1MB test, it tells me to use a larger file. Select the iPhone test. Not the iPhone app. The test is actually designed for any smart phone. Be sure to select the 3G button at the top of the page. If you select EDGE or WiFi, for example, your results will be skewed. I'm using Opera Mini and I'm in Southern California.

Your Alltel speeds are beyond good.

I avg 980kb down & 550kb up.

My best was 1.2MB down & 580kb up...

833 is about right. Depends on the signal stength and the tower traffic. My best was 1213 kbs very close to the tower.

I'm wondering if DSL Reports isn't accurate. I've always used them for my FIOS at home and it seems pretty accurate. Maybe not for the phone though... any suggestions?

I just tethered my laptop within maybe 500 feet of the tower in Wichita. *grin*
